How It Happened:
A fast start by the Cobras capped by a Wasswa lay-up made it a 9-4 Coker lead to start off the first quarter. However, the Bears did not want to go quietly, rearing their heads and going on a 9-0 run to take a 13-9 lead. Right before the quarter ended, Mitchem made a mid-range jumper to cut it to just a two-point deficit heading into the second period.
Counting that bucket at the end of the first, Coker responded with a ten-point run of their own to retake a lead at 19-13. A three-point jumper by LR to cut it to a three-point game happened to be the only points the Cobras allowed in this quarter, as Wasswa made another jumper to take her total to 14 in the first half and the Coker total to 21 into the halftime break.
For the third quarter in a row, the Cobras opened up with a big run. Heading on a 10-2 tear at the beginning of the period capped by a Dasia Ferguson made lay-up, the Cobras found themselves with a 31-18 lead in this one. For the rest of the contest, the Cobras were able to maintain this cushion. The closest this game came for the rest of the contest was within nine as the Cobras finished this game on yet another run to secure their twentieth victory of the season.
