TILLMAN NAMED COKER'S JANUARY ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

Hartsville, SC - The performances speak for themselves - after a stellar month for both herself and Coker Women's Basketball, Shawnteanna Tillman is your Coker Athletics January Athlete of the Month!

The junior from Columbia, SC recorded 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game last month in a period that saw the Cobras go 8-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play. Among these wins were three teams that are currently projected to make the South Atlantic Conference tournament.

Tillman also recorded three consecutive 20+ point games against Tusculum (28), Newberry (26), and UVA-Wise (22) which saw her win her second SAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week of the season. She has brought her scoring average up from 6.6 to 16.4 between the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, making the jump into one of the premier scorers in the SAC.

She will look to continue her great month of play in February to lead her team to a SAC title and a possible NCAA DII Tournament bid. They will host Lenoir-Rhyne in a weekday match-up on Wednesday, so make sure to come out to the DeLoach Center at 5:30 to catch Tillman and company in action!
