How It Happened:
Newberry came out of the gates very active on defense which gave the Cobras problems early. After a 10-7 lead for the Wolves at the end of the first, the Cobras took over in the second period. A made bucket by Newberry had them extend their lead to 12-7, but, from there, the Cobras went on a 9-2 run capped off by a made three by Tillman to take the lead at 16-14.
It was a tight contest for the remainder of the half, with neither team gaining more than a three-point lead in that stretch. However, a made layup by Kamari Thompson at the end of the half gave the Cobras their first two-possession lead of the ballgame as they headed up 29-24 into the halftime break.
Out of the break, the Cobras build an early cushion powered by back-to-back layups by Tillman and Mariah Mitchem to make it a 36-28 game. Mitchem also capped off the quarter with a driving layup to make it a nine-point game (47-38) heading into the final period of play.
The closest it got in the final quarter was an eight-point game at 56-48. However, the Cobras ended the game on a 9-0 run (capped off by a Dasia Ferguson three with under 20 seconds of game time left) to win this one handily by a score of 65-48.

The Cobras continue their best season in program history, moving to 16-1 (12-1 SAC) and extending this win streak to nine games.
