WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO EIGHT, DOWNS TUSCULUM

Greeneville, TN - The Cobras picked up yet another South Atlantic Conference win this afternoon, taking care of business on the road against Tusculum by a score of 81-71. This extended their win streak to eight games and they are still undefeated in this 2025 calendar year.

How It Happened:

Coker zoomed out to a quick start, taking a 9 point lead at 14-5. That early cushion made the difference down the stretch in the first half, as Tusculum started clicking together as a team and clawed back into this one and trailed by just three points at halftime.

The first bucket out of the half went in favor of Tusculum which put this one within just one point in the early moments of the second half. After a made free throw by Dasia Ferguson, a three pointer was made on the other end of the floor by the Pioneers to take their first lead of the ballgame.

This back-and-forth continued for a while, and it remained a tight contest deep into the third period of play. A big moment came when Thompson converted a layup through contact, drawing the foul and converting at the line to take a 45-44 lead. This reclaimed the lead for the rest of the game, with Tillman making some clutch buckets down the stretch to put this one out of reach and claim the road victory.

Notables:

Tillman recorded a career-high 28 points to lead all scorers in this one. She also led the team in rebounds (8) and steals (5) in an all-around stellar performance from the junior guard. Kamari Thompson also had 15 points on 7-11 shooting to support Tillman's scoring outpour.
