
Balanced Attack Leads Coker Past UVA Wise
All five starters score in double figures, as Coker moves to 4-0
Wise, VA. - Coker used a balance attack to move to 4-0 on the season, and 2-0 in SAC play. Shawnteanna Tillman was great for the Cobras for the second straight contest, registering 19 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals.
Coker held a 10 point lead at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back in route to a 78-60 victory over UVA Wise Saturday afternoon. The cobras took a 40-32 lead into the break, where they led in almost every category.
In the second half, Coker used a lot of the same to extend their lead. Turnovers was a brightspot for Coker, as they forced UVA Wise into 24 turnovers on the night due to their constant pressure. Tillman led the team with five steals, while Mya Wasswa added four of her own.
Heading into the fourth the Cobras lead grew to a 60-46 lead. In the fourth the Cobras continued to pour it on, to ulitmately take down Wise 78-60. The story of the night for Coker was the balance they showed. All five starters registered double digit scoring, with nine players scoring atleast once.
Coker who is now 4-0, 2-0, resumes action Wednesday when they travel to to Coastal Carolina. Tipoff is set for 3:00 PM.
