Cobras Hold Off Cavaliers To Win Third In A Row

Hartsville, SC - A strong start and finish in today's contest was the deciding factor in the Cobras' third win in a row.

The opening period saw the Cobras take a six-point lead, heading up 20-14 going into the second quarter. Through the next two quarters, the Cavaliers began to chip away at the lead. They made it a five-point game at halftime and cut the lead to three at 54-51 heading into the final period of play. With their backs against the wall, the Cobras cracked their knuckles and punched back in the fourth quarter to win this one 75-68.

Sophomore guard Kristynn Knight scored a career-high 21 points in this one to lead all scorers while also adding four assists to lead in yet another statistical category on the night. Mya Wasswa and Kamari Thompson were the other Cobras in double figures with 11 each. Wasswa pitched in six steals and six rebounds, while Thompson added ten rebounds to give herself a double-double.

The Cobras (11-5, 5-4 South Atlantic Conference) will be back in action this Wednesday (January 24th) when they head on the road to take on Limestone (8-9, 2-7 SAC), looking to make it four wins in a row and move to 5-0 on the road.
