Coker Dominates Converse in Women's Basketball Game

Hartsville, SC- In a women's non-conference basketball game held on November 21, 2023, Coker University showcased their dominance by defeating Converse College with a final score of 84-50. 

From the start, Coker took control of the game, outscoring Converse in every quarter. The first quarter saw Coker take a commanding lead with a score of 23-12. They continued to extend their lead in the second quarter, ending the first half with a score of 33-19.

Coker's strong performance continued in the second half, with their players displaying excellent shooting accuracy. They shot at an impressive 47.6% from the field, including 46.2% from beyond the arc. Additionally, their free-throw shooting was outstanding, with an 85.7% success rate.

Leading the charge for Coker was Dasia Lambert, who scored 15 points and contributed 7 rebounds. Kamari Thompson also had a notable performance, scoring 9 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Mya Wasswa and Dominique Rodriguez each added 5 points for Coker.

Alisa Davenport was the leading scorer for Converse, contributing 9 points. Sydney Wilson had a strong presence in the paint, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Zariyah Washington added 9 points for Converse.

Coker's defense was also noteworthy, as they recorded 20 steals and 2 blocks.
