Cobras Celebrate Win Over Valkyries on Friday Night (Jan. 13)

Spartanburg, SC - The Coker University Women's Basketball Team defeated Converse in a mid-season non-conference match by a score of 48-29.

Abigail Keesling, shooting 4-8 from the field on the night, scored a game high of 15 points for the Coras. Keesling was closely followed by Dasia Lambert on the scoreboard with 10 points of her own. Valicia Demeritte (6), Mya Wasswa (5), Dominique Rodriguez (3) combined for a total of 14 points againt the Valkyries. As a team, Coker shot 28.9 percent from the field, 35.7 from the three point line, and 81 percent from the foul line. 

Hope Richardson posted a game high of 11 rebounds, getting more action on the glass than any other Cobras. Although no other Cobras registered in double digits for rebounds, nine other helped in the collective 42. Coker brought in eight assists for the night and 14 steals. 

Jordan Brown of Converse posted nine points for the night.

The Cobras will return to action on Wednesday (Jan. 18th) against Anderson. Tip off is set for 5:30 PM in Anderson, SC. Live streaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
