GREENEVILLE, TENN. - The Coker University women's basketball team fell at Tusculum in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday (Feb. 22) by a score of 75-66.

Tusculum jumped out to a 10-2 lead less than three minutes in, before extending their lead into double digits in the final three minutes of the first quarter. Tusculum would carry a 22-13 lead into the second quarter.

The Cobras would get back within four at 23-19 less than two minutes into the second quarter, before Tusculum would push its lead back into double digits in the next few minutes. Coker was within six with five minutes to go in the half, before Coker would eventually get back within three with over a minute to go in the quarter, before Tusculum would take a 36-31 lead to the half.

Tusculum would go back up by double-digits two and a half minutes into the third quarter, before Coker would get back within two with three minutes to play in the frame. The Cobras would tie the game on a Jalah Horton layup with two and a half minutes to play in the period, before the teams eventually played to a 52-52 tie with a minute to go. Tusculum led 54-52 headed to the fourth.

Tusculum would go on a run that spanned most of the fourth quarter to help them pull away in the contest, as the Cobras were held to just six points.

Hayley Kropp scored a team-high 14 points in the game, while Erin Houser and Emily Davis each had 12 points and Janell Horton also chipped in 10. Four other Cobras scored in the contest. Houser pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds to complete the double-double, while six other Cobras were active on the glass in the game. Shay Jackson dished out six assists for the Cobras, while Houser and Kropp each had three assists. Janell Horton and Davis each had one assist in the game. Janell Horton led the Cobras with two steals, while three other Cobras each registered one steal in the game. Jalah Horton and Janell Horton each had one block in the game.

Coker is back on the hardwood on Wednesday (Feb. 26) to travel to Newberry in South Atlantic Conference play. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
