Coker Hosts Queens in Key SAC Matchup Wednesday

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball will host Queens in a pivotal South Atlantic Conference tilt on Wednesday (Feb. 1). Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The teams met in Charlotte back on Dec. 12, with Queens their defending home court with a 59-53 win. Iresha Cooper totaled a team-high 14 points in the contest, while Kaleah Hires also tallied double figures with 10.

Coker's last action came against Brevard at home where the Cobras completed the season sweep over the Tornados with an 80-67 win. Iresha Cooper led the offense with 24 points and 13 rebounds in her second consecutive doube-double effort. Sydney Shull was the other starter in double figures, notching 12. Lindsey Adams added 12 and Aloni McFarland chipped in 10.

Cooper leads the Cobras offensively this season, averaging 11.9 points per game, which is 16th-best individually in the league. Cooper is also second in the league in field goal percentage, shooting 56.1 percent from the floor.

Queens comes into the matchup 4-15 overall and 4-10 in the South Atlantic Conference play. They are led offensively by Oliverio McKell, who averages 14.3 points per game, which is tied for ninth individually in the conference.

Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
