Cobras Look for Season Split with Crusaders

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball will take on Belmont Abbey on Monday (Dec. 19) looking for a season split. 

The teams met back on Nov. 12 at the Stokes-Trainor Conference Challenge where Belmont Abbey came away with the 68-64 win. Terrika Foster led all Cobras scorers with 14 points, while Kendra Lambert added 12. Along with Iresha Cooper's nine and Sydney Shull's eight points, six other Cobras contributed points in the contest.

The Cobras last played at Tusculum on Saturday (Dec. 17) and lost 59-50. Kendra Lambert led the Navy and Gold scoring 13 points, while Trai Johnson added 10.

Iresha Cooper leads the Cobras offensively and is 16th individually in the conference averaging 11.4 points per game. Cooper also leads the South Atlantic Conference in field goal percentage at 57.8 percent. Sydney Shull is fifth in the league in shooting, with a 53.4 percent mark form the field.

The Crusaders come into the rematch with a 5-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark in Conference Carolinas. Chrystal Ezechukwu leads the team offensively, averaging 12.1 points per game. Three other Crusaders average double-digit scoring in Taylor Johnson (11.7), Gabrielle Bethel (11.1) and Morgan Midkiff (10.7).

Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Admission will not be charged for the game.
