HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball dropped its midweek contest at home 74-66 to visiting Wingate on Wednesday (Feb. 17).

Jazz Green led the home team with a 21-point effort, while Elizabeth Kincaid added 11 off the bench.

Coker trailed 35-33 at the half, and Wingate would increase its lead to 10 going to the final frame. The teams traded buckets for most of the fourth quarter, until a mini-run from Coker would give the home team some momentum. A pair of Jordan Dawson free throws cut the lead to 61-54 before Wingate called timeout. Out of the timeout Jazz Green put up a three-pointer, and Morgan Williams hauled in the offensive board and put it back in for two, cutting the lead to five. Coker would hang around the final few minutes, getting as close as four points with one minute remaining.

The Cobras will hit the hardwood again on Saturday (Feb. 20) when they travel to Mars Hill. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
