CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Coker women's basketball eeked out a 55-52 South Atlantic Conference victory at Queens (N.C.) on Wednesday (Feb. 3).

Sydney Shull's team-high 12 points off the bench accompanied by an 11-point performance from Danielle Luczak was just enough to get the Cobras the win.

Coker held a slim 30-27 lead at half, and trailed 42-40 going to the fourth quarter. A Luczak layup on Coker's first possession of the quarter would put the visitors up by one. A three-pointer from Shull would put the Cobras up by four with one minute gone in the frame. With under six minutes remaining, Queens cut the lead to one, until Luczak came back in off the bench and netted another two points for the navy and gold. A pair of Sydney Shull free throws would put Coker's lead at 51-47 with under four minutes to play. The Royals cut the lead to two yet again with 1:30 to play, but another clutch three-pointer from Shull put the Cobra lead at five. Kiara Shoats would ice the game with a free throw in the dying seconds to give the Cobras their second consecutive SAC win.

The Cobras hit the hardwood again on Saturday (Feb. 6) when they welcome Anderson for homecoming weekend. Tip-off is set for 2:00 at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
