Cobras Edged at Home by Newberry

HARTSVILLE, S.C.-  Coker women's basketball fell at home on Wednesday (Jan. 13) to Newberry 86-76. Coker had four players score in double figures including three starters. Jazz Green poured in a team-high 19 points, while Kendra Lambert added 14 and Morgan Williams chipped in 10. Jordan Dawson contributed 11 points of her own off the bench. Green also pulled down 12 rebounds to complete a double-double.

Coker trailed 16-11 after one quarter and 37-30 at the half. Coker hung tough in the third but trailed by 12 going to the final frame. The Cobras cut the deficit to eight with three minutes left but were unable to gain any more ground in the contest.

The Cobras are back in action Saturday (Jan. 16) when they travel to Carson-Newman. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
