Coker Hosts Queens in Pivotal SAC Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball plays host to Queens (N.C.) in a South Atlantic Conference matchup on Wednesday (Dec. 9). The Cobras are looking to win their third straight conference game.

The Cobras last action came in a 64-61 win at Lincoln Memorial back on Dec. 5. Three Cobras notched double figures in the scoring department. Jazz Green led the attack with 24 points, and completed a double-double pulling down 10 rebounds. Morgan Williams contributed 12 points, while Kiara Shoats added 11 of her own. The Cobras trailed 36-35 at the half before outscoring the Railsplitters 21-10 in the third quarter to gain control.

Coker has been sparked offensively by senior Jazz Green, who is currently tied for fifth in the conference in points per game (15.3). Green is also second in the conference with 10 total rebounds per game. As a team, Coker is sixth in the conference averaging 39.1 rebounds per game. The Cobras also average 11.9 assists per game as well as 65.6 points per game, good for fifth in the conference.

Queens comes into the matchup with a 2-5 record and an 0-2 mark in conference play. Offensively, the Royals are paced by Carmen Richardson and McKell Oliverio, both who average double digits in the scoring department. Richardson averages 14.4 points per game and 33.3 minutes per game while Oliverio averages 11.7 points per game and 33.6 minutes per game.

Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
