Cobras Looking For Third Straight Non-Conference Win Against Bobcats

 

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team will be back at home for the final time in 2014 on Wednesday (Dec. 17) at 4 p.m. as they take on the visiting Lees-McRae Bobcats in a non-conference matchup. Live stats and broadcast will be available via www.cokercobras.com.

Coker is coming off an 18-point road victory over GRU Augusta. In their previous matchups, the Cobras swept the then-Conference Carolinas foe during the 2012-2013 campaign.

The Navy and Yellow are led by seniors Tanesha Stenson and Kelley Godbout. Stenson is averaging team-highs in points (13.5) and rebounds (8.1) through nine games this season. Those totals are both inside the top ten in the South Atlantic Conference. Godbout, who is coming off a 14-point performance last time out, is averaging 10.9 points per game this season.

As a team, Coker ranks in the top half of the conference in field goal shooting percentage and three-point field goal percentage.

Lees-McRae comes to Hartsville with a 3-6 overall record after dropping their previous game to Lander University. The Bobcats have three scorers in double-figures, led by Kabrina Truesdale who is averaging 12.6 points this season.

Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 17) with doors of the DeLoach Center opening at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.
