Coker Falls to No. 2 South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team opened the 2014-15 season with a 100-25 loss to the nationally ranked No. 2 University of South Carolina Gamecocks in an exhibition game on Sunday (Nov. 2).

The exhibition marked the fourth consecutive year that the Cobras have opened the season against a preseason nationally ranked opponent.

Senior Kelley Godbout led the Coker scorers with eight points. She also grabbed three rebounds. Classmate Tanesha Stenson added seven points and a team leading six rebounds.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Nov. 8) in another exhibition game at Vanderbilt University. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT at the Commodore's Historic Memorial Gymnasium.
