Autumn Lau Named Conference Player of the Week

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College women's basketball player Autumn Lau has been named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

Lau, a junior, led the Cobras to victories over Pfeiffer University and King College. She averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, two steals and over one block per game. Lau was credited with the game-preserving block in the two-point win over Pfeiffer.

For the season, Lau is averaging over 18 points-per game, good for tops on the team and third in the conference. She also averages seven rebounds and leads the league in blocks per game at 2.4.

This is the second time Autumn Lau has been named conference player of the week. Along with Autumn's two selections, Amber Lau and Hailey Yohn have also received conference player of the week awards for the 2012-13 season.

Autumn Lau, a physical education and sport studies major with a concentration in sport management, hails from Mt. Wolf, Pa. She is the daughter of Brian and Shelby Lau.

Coker is 16-10 overall and 12-8 in conference play. The Cobras play host to Queens University of Charlotte at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
