Cobras Looking to Extend Win Streak Against Queens

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team will play host to Queens University of Charlotte on Tuesday (Feb. 26).  Live video coverage of the game will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker is on a four game win streak, and will be looking to extend that streak on their home floor where they are currently 8-2 on the year.  The Cobras most recent win however, came on the road against King where they defeated the Tornado 73-65. 

In the last four games the Cobras have outscored their opponents by a margin of 12.5-points.  The Lau sisters continue to lead the Cobras in scoring, with Autumn averaging 18.7-points per game, followed by Amber with 14.  Sophomore guard Angie Lawrence is third on that list with an average of 10.8. 

The Cobras have been strong defensively during their win streak as well.  Opponents have only been averaging 61.25-points per game, and shooting 36-percent from the field. 

Queens (13-11, 11-9) is coming off an 80-71 loss against North Greenville.  The Royals are led by Shonice Pettaway, who is averaging 16.3-points per game.

In their first meeting, the Cobras fell to the Royals 86-71.  Autumn Lau was the leading scorer in that game for the Cobras with 24-points, while Pettaway led all scorers with 31.

Tip-off will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
