Cobras Rev-Up to Battle Falcons

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team will be looking to avenge an early season loss against Pfeiffer University on Wednesday (Feb. 20), as they host the Falcons in Conference Carolinas action.

In the first meeting between these two teams, Coker struggled offensively and only scored 54-points.  However, the Cobra offense has averaged nearly 70-points per game since that point and has proven to be strong at home all season long with a 7-2 home court record.

The Lau sisters continue to be a force on the offensive end by averaging a combined 33-points per game. Along with scoring duties Autumn Lau is getting it done on the defensive side by averaging a team high 2.6-blocks per game.  Sophomore guard Angie Lawrence has scored back-to-back 18-point games, and is averaging 10.6-points on the season.

Coker will be put to the test on Wednesday, as they prepare for the third ranked team in the conference.  Brittany Cox will be the primary focus for the Cobras, as she leads the team in total points (429), scoring average (18.7), 3-point percentage (.383), and 3-pointers made (67).

Wednesday's game is Faculty-Staff Appreciation Night.  Members of the Coker College faculty and staff will receive a free t-shirt at the game, along with drinks and popcorn.  Games and prizes will also be apart of the night's festivities.

The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off, followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
