Lau Earns Double-Double In Cobras Loss at Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C.  --  Autumn Lau led Coker with a double-double by scoring 15-points and collecting 10-rebounds in Thursday (Jan. 24) night's 83-54 Conference Carolinas loss against Pfeiffer University (12-3, 7-3 ).  The Cobras fall to 10-7 on the year, and 6-5 in league play.

Coker jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead on the Falcons at the start of the game, but the lead was short lived as Pfeiffer responded with a 9-0 run of their own.  Coker struggled with shooting from the field, and found themselves down 20-points at the break.

Both teams exchanged buckets throughout the second half, but the 20-point first half deficit was too much for Coker to overcome.  The Falcons connected on 13-of-33 (39-percent) three-pointers to help secure the win.

Besides Lau, eight other Cobras scored for Coker.  Angie Lawrence joined Lau in double-digit scoring by contributing 13-ponts to the scoreboard.  She also grabbed six rebounds and dished out two assist.

Coker will return home on Saturday (Jan. 26) to face King College in a Conference Carolinas competition.  The game is set for a 2 p.m. tip-off, followed by the men's game at 4 p.m.
