
Amber Lau Named Conference Player of the Week
Women's basketball player Amber Lau has been named the Conference Carolinas player of the week.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College women's basketball player Amber Lau has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Lau, a senior from Mt. Wolfe, Pa., averaged 28 points in the Cobras' two wins over Conference Carolinas opponents last week. She tallied 27 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block against Converse. Against Lee-McRae, Lau dropped 29 points – including seven 3-pointers – with six boards, three assists and three steals.
As of Tuesday, Lau is averaging 20 points per game, good for second in the conference and 11th in the nation for Division II. Her 9.7 rebounds-per-game average is fifth best in the conference.
Coker is 4-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Cobras return to action for their home opener Dec. 15 against Mount Olive.
