Yohn Shoots Cobras Past Eagles

HARROGATE, TENN. – With under 25-seconds remaining in a tied ball game, Hailey Yohn connected on a three-point shot to put Coker (1-0) up 59-56 over the Eagles of Carson Newman (0-1).  The Eagles' desperation shot was then rebounded by the Cobra defense to secure the win.

The Coker offense opened the game strong with a 10-2 run. The Lady Eagles would come back with 11-3 run of their own, and would eventually tie the score at 13. The two teams played back-and-forth basketball for the rest of the half, and battled to a 26-point tie at the end of the first half.

Senior guard Amber Lau led the Cobras with a team high of 24-points. Twelve of Laus' points came from three-point range.

The Cobras will have little time to celebrate their victory, with their next competition coming on Saturday (Nov. 9) against Lincoln Memorial.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
