Cobra Women Roll Past Knights 91-43

LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Coker women's basketball team overpowered the St. Andrews Knights by 47 points on Tuesday night taking home their third consecutive victory with a score of 91-43. The win improves the Cobras to 8-6 in Conference Carolinas play.

After falling behind 4-2 in the opening minutes of the game, Coker took the lead with an 18-0 run and never looked back. The Cobras held a 40-19 lead at the break before pouring in 51 more points in the second half.

The Cobras not only shot over 50 percent from the field, they played a stifling defense holding the Knights shooters to just 30 percent from the floor.

Leading the Coker offensive onslaught was Amber Lau (Mt. Wolfe, Pa.) with 22 points and four rebounds, while this week's conference player of the week Jessica Cohen (Ladsen, S.C.) scored 16 points with six rebounds. Adding 10 points to the Cobra efforts was Jasmine Alston (Sumter, S.C.), with Kelley Godbout (Matthews, N.C.) pulling down a game high 11 rebounds.

Coker will be back in action on Saturday at home against Converse College at 2 p.m.
