Coker Women Roll Past Belmont Abbey, 81-61

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Jessica Cohen (Ladsen, S.C.) picked up her second straight double-double and her third consecutive game scoring at least 20 points with a 21 point and 11 rebound performance in the Cobra women's basketball team's 81-61 win over Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey on Saturday.

The Cobras controlled the pace of play from the very beginning, as the caused 24 Abbey turnovers and shot nearly 50 percent from the floor.

Amber Lau (Mt. Wolfe, Pa.) had a game high 24 points, half of which came from three-point range, while Hailey Yohn (Durham, N.C.) was five-for-six from long range for 15 points.

Coker took a 9-8 lead in the opening five minutes of play and never looked back. They held a 41-29 lead at halftime and then added another 40 points in the second half, including a 12-4 run in the middle of the half.

The Cobra women return to the floor on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. when they travel to Laurinburg, N.C. to take on St. Andrews University.

Cohen scored 21 points with 11 rebounds for a double-double.
