Coker Women Blow Past King Tornado 66-46

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team picked up their second victory in as many games on Saturday afternoon, when they defeated the Lady Tornado of King College 66-46. Four Cobra women scored in double figures in a victory that improved Coker to 2-3 in Conference Carolinas play.

The Tornado had a much more productive second half, scoring 31 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Cobras first half lead.

Coker senior Jasmine Alston (Sumter, S.C.) led all scorers with 14 points, while Kelley Godbout (Matthews, N.C.) scored 13 points with four rebounds off the bench. Jessica Cohen (Ladsen, S.C.) recorded her third straight double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds and Amber Lau (Mt. Wolfe, Pa.) also hadded 10 points with five rebounds.

Brittany Kinser led the Tornado with 11 points and Brooke Johnson added 10 points.

The Cobras will hit the road for their next game on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Charlotte, N.C. against Queens University of Charlotte.
