Erskine Women Narrowly Defeat Coker 80-78

DUE WEST, S.C. – Three Cobra women netted double figure points, including a double-double performance by Jessica Cohen (Ladsen, S.C.) in the Coker women's basketball team's two-point loss to Erskine College, 80-78 on Saturday. 

Cohen scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the road loss, while Amber Lau (Mt. Wolfe, Pa.) was Coker's leading scorer with 19 points. Kelley Godbout (Matthews, N.C.) was the third double-digit scorer with 11 points and six rebounds.

Porsha Morgan led the Erskine Flying Fleet with 36 points, with Elizabeth Tatum adding 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cobras outshot the Fleet at the free throw line 82.4 percent compared to 63.6 percent, but the Fleet held the advantage from the field 44.8 percent to 39.7 percent.

Coker will return home for their next game on Tuesday, January 10 against the Knights of St. Andrews University at 5:30 p.m.
