N.C. Central Narrowly Defeats Coker 65-64

DURHAM, N.C. – Amber Lau (Mt. Wolf, Pa.) and Kelley Godbout (Matthews, N.C.) each recorded double-doubles, as the Cobra women's basketball team narrowly lost to Division I North Carolina Central University 65-64 on Wednesday night.

After taking a 25-22 lead at halftime, Coker found themselves trailing by eight points with just four minutes remaining. The Cobras put together a 12-5 run down the stretch cutting the lead to just one, but missed a last second shot to win the game.

Lau led the Cobras with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Godbout had 14 points and a game high 13 rebounds. Jasmine Alston (Sumter, S.C.) added 16 points and six rebounds.

Coker will be back in action on Monday, Dec. 19 at home against local rival Francis Marion University. The Cobras and the Patriots will tip-off at 2:00 p.m. at the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.
