HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra women’s basketball lost to Erskine College 58-43 on Thursday night in Conference Carolinas women’s basketball action. Coker’s Jasmine Alston (Sumter, S.C.) was the Cobras leading scorer in the loss with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Cobras had a tough night shooting, hitting just 32 percent of their shots from the floor compared to the Flying Fleet’s 42 percent from the floor.

A relatively close game during the first half, Erskine surged to 33-23 halftime lead. Erskine held the lead through the second half, finalizing the victory with a pair of Lauren Stewart free throws with just over minutes left in the game.

In addition to Alston’s team leading 12 points, Lucy Fish (Nottingham, England) and Janell Dunham (Bear, Del.) each added eight points to the Cobras night.

Coker returns to action on Friday at home against Converse College at 5:30 p.m. The game will be Coker’s final at home this season.
