CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Megan Thomas (Cresskill, N.J.) scored a game high 16 points and Jasmine Alston (Sumter, S.C.) had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Coker women’s basketball team’s 71-55 loss to Barton College at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C.

The win gives the Lady Bulldogs 13 straight wins and makes them a perfect 15-0 in Conference Carolinas play.

Barton used a dominate performance on the boards grabbing 67 total rebounds, including 38 offensive boards, and 27 Coker turnovers leading to 27 points to secure the victory.

Jolanda Mitchell and Jannetta Robinson were the leading scorers for the Lady Bulldogs, dropping 14 points each, while Mitchell pulled down a game high 13 rebounds.

In addition to Thomas and Alston’s efforts, Janell Dunham (Bear, Del.) added eight points and seven rebounds to the Cobras’ night.

The Cobras will return to the floor on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at home against Mount Olive College. It will be faculty/staff appreciation night at Coker. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
