MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Senior forward Maija Castren (Vantaa, Finland) scored a career high 14 points in the Cobras 83-48 loss to the Falcons of Pfeiffer University on Wednesday night in Conference Carolinas women’s basketball action.

Pfeiffer stormed out to a 48-22 lead in the first half that included a 16-6 run to start the game. A equally dominate second half, gave the Falcons the 83-48 win.

Coker shot just 30.9 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from the charity stripe, while Pfeiffer hit 49.2 percent from the floor and 75 percent from the free throw line.

In addition to Castren’s 14 points, Janell Dunham (Bear, Del.) chipped in 10 points for the Cobras. Jasmine Alston (Sumter, S.C.) also added eight points and a team high eight rebounds.

For Pfeiffer, Domonique China recorded her second career triple-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, while Christina Harvey had a game high 17 points and seven rebounds and Shelley Reese dropped in 16 points. Celeste Caudill added 12 points and Kellie Rhoney netted 10.

Coker will return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to take on Queens University at 5:30 p.m.
