HARTVILLE, S.C.- Coker College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jenny Finora announced the signing of Sara Landis to a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period to play basketball for the Cobras in the 2011-12 season.
Landis is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, where she is a star student-athlete at Scottsburg High School. A 6-2 forward averaging 10 points, eight rebounds, three steals, four assists and three blocks per game last season, Landis looks to add some much needed size and power under the basket for the Cobras.
“Sara is a wonderful student-athlete, person, and a great all-around player,” said Finora. “Her versatility will allow her to play inside and outside, and bring us some depth at multiple positions. We are excited to have her join our Coker family.”
Equally gifted off the court, Landis has a 3.2 GPA and is working toward her Academic Honors Diploma. She is also a community volunteer and youth basketball coach.
“I am excited to continue my education at Coker,” said Landis. “I am looking forward to getting on campus and helping Coach Finora and the Cobras build a great program.”
