Hartsville, S.C. - Temeca Spain (Conway, SC) and Rebecca Kolbeck (Santa Paula, CA) combined for 44 points and 13 rebounds in their final home game on the Coker Lady Cobras Basketball Team. Spain and Kolbeck led the Lady Cobras to a huge 89-64 win over the St. Andrews Presbyterian College Lady Knights on their senior night. The win improves Coker to 6-19 overall, and 5-13 in Conference Carolinas play, while St. Andrews falls to 5-20 overall, and 4-14 in the conference.

With the win, Coker is still in ninth place in the Conference Carolinas standings, just one spot away from the last seed in the conference tournament. The Lady Cobras have two games remaining, Saturday, at Queens University of Charlotte at 2:00 p.m. and Tuesday, at Limestone College at 5:30 p.m., giving them ample opportunities to move up in the standings.

The Lady Cobras jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, never allowing St. Andrews a lead or tie throughout the entire 40 minutes. Coker held substantial advantages in several statistical categories, including causing 20 St. Andrews turnovers, while picking up 13 steals and scoring 29 points of the bench. The Lady Cobras moved the ball well throughout the game dishing out 21 assists as a team, compared to the Lady Knights seven.

Spain finished the game with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Kolbeck had 21 points and five rebounds. Kenya McCarthan (Hardeeville, SC) scored 13 points of the bench, and Lotta Aaltonen (Rauma, Finland) had 10 points with three rebounds.

For St. Andrews, April Johnson dropped 19 points with nine rebounds, while Erika Thompson had 12 points and Kristen Zipken netted 10 points in the game.
