ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University outscored Coker 50-25 in the second half on its way to an 87-48 victory in a Conference Carolinas game Monday night at the Abney Center.

Anderson, 16-2 overall and 10-1 in the conference, won its ninth straight game. The loss drops Coker to 4-15, 3-9.

The Lady Trojans took the lead less than two minutes into the game and built a 37-23 halftime lead. Anderson outscored Coker 42-15 in the first 15 minutes of the second half to run away from the Cobras.

Anderson shot 65 percent in the second half to finish the game at 49 percent. Defensively, Anderson limited Coker to 37 percent from the field and forced 26 turnovers. Anderson scored 26 points off Coker’s turnovers.

Anderson, 34-1 at home the last two seasons, was led by Keana Boyd with 16 points. Latrice Thomas added 12 points, and Genia Holbrook, Shanice Wilson, and Whitney Ketner all scored 10 points apiece.

Coker was led by Temeca Spain with 17 points and Lotta Aaltonen with 10 points.

Anderson dominated the boards, 42-31. Thomas was Anderson’s leading rebounder with seven.

Anderson had 20 assists on 33 baskets. Ketner had six of the 20 assists.

The Lady Trojans scored 52 points in the paint.
