Misenheimer, NC- The Coker Lady Cobras were bounced from the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament by Pfeiffer University in the quarterfinals 94-75 on Thursday night. With the loss Coker ends their season with a record of 8-21 overall, and 5-15 in the CVAC.

 

Coker out shot the Falcons from the floor, shooting 57 percent, compared to Pfeiffer’s 42 percent. Unfortunately for Coker, good shooting could not save them, as they committed 29 turnovers, leading to 21 points.

 

Temeca Spain led the Cobras scoring her fourth double-double, netting 15 points with 10 rebounds. Henna Koponen was the Cobras points leader, scoring 20, while India Elliot scored 14 points with five rebounds in the final game of her college career.

 

The Cobras will now prepare for the off-season was they look to advance even farther into next season’s tournament and post-season. Coach Carol Meegan will only lose two seniors, Tara Nelson and India Elliot, and with most of the team returning, they are looking forward to bright future.
