Hartsville, SC- In their final home game of the season the Lady Cobras took a hard loss to the Knights of St. Andrews Presbyterian College, 60-54. Coker is now 6-20 overall, and 4-15 in the CVAC, while St. Andrews improves to 19-7 overall, and 15-5 in the CVAC.

 

It was a tight first half with the Knights taking a two point, 29-27 lead into the break. Neither team was exceptional from the floor, with Coker shooting 33 percent and St. Andrews shooting 31 percent.

 

The Knights turned up the intensity the second half and were able to improve their shooting to 43 percent, while Coker also turned it up shooting 37.5 percent. However the difference came down to St. Andrews second chance points, 21, compared to Coker’s nine.

 

Temeca Spain’s double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds led the way for Coker. Henna Koponen and Rebecca Kolbeck had 10 points apiece, and three and four rebounds respectively. India Elliot finished her final home game with seven points and three rebounds.

 

The Knight’s had two double-doubles with Danielle Norman netting 17 points with 14 rebounds and April Johnson scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Coker’s final game is on Saturday, as they travel to Lees-McRae College for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off, while St. Andrews will face Pitt-Johnstown at home also starting at 2:00 p.m.
