GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Limestone College Lady Saints defeated the Coker Cobras in CVAC women’s basketball action on Thursday night 63-54. With the win the Lady Saints improve to 8-15 overall and 7-9 in the CVAC. With the loss Coker falls to 6-19 overall and 4-14 in the CVAC.

 

Leading the way for the Lady Saints was junior Lindsay Kyle (Springfield, Va.) who had a double double netting 16 points and grabbing 13 boards. Junior Monica Adams (Kings Mountain, N.C.) also had a double double for the Lady Saints scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

 

Senior Reagan Robins (Oklahoma City, Okla.) poured in eight points for the Lady Saints connecting on 2-3 from downtown.

 

The game was close throughout but the Lady Saints grabbed their first lead of the game 53-52 on an incredible put back by Adams. Next time down the floor Kyle connected on a trifecta to but the Lady Saints up 56-52 and the Lady Saints would not look back.

 

The Lady Cobras were led by India Elliott who had a game high 18 points. Elliott was joined in double figures by Jessica Hayes who had 10 points.

 

“This really was an important win for us,” said head coach Corey Fox. “We trailed at the half and we really showed heart by coming back and winning this game.” Fox went on to say “I am extremely proud of the way we battled and came away with the win.”

 

The Lady Saints return to action on Saturday as they host Erskine College at 5:30 p.m. at the Timken Center. The Lady Saints will honor their lone senior Reagan Robins.
