Hartsville, SC- In their opening game of the 2006-2007 season, the Lady
Cobras were no match for the Pacers of USC-Aiken, as they lost 73-34. Coker falls to 0-1, while USC-Aiken is 1-0.

 

Coker had a very difficult time getting an offense going, as they were able to unable to crack the 20 point mark in either half, scoring only 15 points in the first half and just 19 in the second half. The Pacers were able to take advantage of Coker’s miscues, scoring 21 points off of turnovers, while 38 of their points came off the bench.

 

Leading Coker were Henna Koponen and Tara Nelson who each scored six points, with Koponen adding five rebounds and Nelson getting four rebounds.

 

For USC-Aiken, Jordan Thomas led the way with 14 points and six rebounds. Meredith Legg had 10 points and six rebounds, while Kendra Chandler also had 10 points, but five rebounds.

 

The Lady Cobras next game is in Spartanburg, SC, as they travel to Converse College on Monday, November 20, at 6:00 p.m.
