GAFFNEY, S.C.-- The Limestone College Lady Saints defeated Coker College, 75-57, to advance to the quarterfinals of the Carolinas-Virginias Athletics Conference tournament. Coker’s overall record for the season stands at 5-22 overall, while Limestone is at 12-16.

 

Two Lady Saints had double-doubles, as sophomore Tiffany Jones (Greer, S.C.) and senior Melissa DeVore (Mulberry, Ind.) had 11 points and 10 assists plus nine rebounds. Senior Danielle Vieira (Coatesville, Ind.) had a game-high 22 point, with junior Reagan Robins (Okalahoma City, Okla.) adding 11.

 

Limestone led 39-21 at the half, out-rebounding the Cobras 31-19 and shooting 42.4% from field (14/33) while Coker went 7-for-33 (21.2%). The Lady Saints had 15 points from treys, while the visitors only had 3. Limestone had 12 points from offensive rebounds compared to the Cobras 5.

 

The Lady Saints went 27-of-62 for the game (43.5%) as the Cobras went 21-of-75 (28%). Limestone scored 30 points from three-pointers and scored 18 second-chance points while out-rebounding the Cobras 50-44.

 

Senior Ashley White led all Coker scorers with 16 points and five rebounds in her final game as a Cobra, while Tara Nelson added 12 points and seven rebounds to the Coker effort.

 

Limestone goes on to play the No. 1-seeded Anderson University Trojans in the quarterfinals of the CVAC play-offs on Wednesday, March 1 in Anderson, S.C.
