Hartsville, SC- Anderson University came out ready to play after halftime and outscored the Cobras by ten on route to an 81-74 victory on Monday night in women’s collegiate basketball.

 

Coker took an early first half lead on the number one team in the CVAC, and led by as much as 17 points with only 5:30 left in the half. Anderson would regain their composure and cut the lead to three, 35-32, going into the locker room.

 

Coker managed to keep things close, until the two minute mark, when Anderson led by six and the Cobras were forced to foul the Trojans. Unfortunately for Coker, they didn’t miss, making their last six free throw attempts.

 

In their final home game at Coker, seniors Rachael Kolbeck and Ashley White each scored in double figures. Kolbeck lead all Coker scorers with 17 points and White added 10 points to Coker offense. Also scoring in double figures where Tara Nelson and India Elliott. Nelson had 16 points and eight rebounds and Elliott finished with 12 points and three steals.

 

For the Trojans, LaShonda Chiles had a game high 27 points and eight rebounds, while Mikala Fogle-Wilson had 14 points and Kim Hausman added 11 points. Keana Boyd also scored 10 points and Genia Holbrook had a game high 12 rebounds.

 

The Lady Cobras play their final regular season game on Saturday, as they travel to Erskine College at 2:00 p.m.
