GAFFNEY, S.C.-- The Limestone College women’s basketball team defeated Coker College, 68-47, on Saturday at the Timken Center. Limestone climbs to 9-13 overall (7-9 CVAC) while Coker falls to 5-17 (4-12 CVAC). 

Limestone was led by sophomore Monica Adams (Kings Mountain, N.C.) with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Junior Reagan Robins (Oklahoma City, Okla.) had 16 and junior Jodeana Pirtle (Sullivan, Ind.) scored 10. Senior Melissa DeVore just missed getting another triple-double with eight points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

Coker’s Tara Nelson led the Cobras with 12 points, while Temeca Spain posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  

Limestone was 37.1% (13/35) in field goals in the first half, scoring 21 points from treys. Coker struggled, making only 7-of-25 shot attempts (28%). The Lady Saints out-rebounded the visitors, 25-21, and led the Cobras 40-17 at the half.

The Lady Saints narrowly outscored the Cobras, 30-28, in the second half. Limestone was 24-of-65 in field goals for the game (36.9%) while holding Coker to a field goal percentage of 30% (18/60) for the 68-47 win.
