BELMONT , NCBelmont Abbey built a 12 point second half lead and sealed a 74-66 win over Coker at the foul line Saturday afternoon in women’s collegiate basketball.  Senior Nicole Woods went a perfect 6-6 from the foul line in the final two minutes and finished with 24 points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds.

   The Abbey battled back from a nine-point first half deficit to lead 32-31 at the break and only trailed three times early in the second half.  Belmont Abbey opened up the double-digit lead in the second period with the help of five three-point baskets. 

 

   Whitney Robinson tallied 17 points, and six rebounds for BAC and Jeanette Johansson added 12 points, six boards, five assists and four steals.  Valorie Bennett finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists.  India Elliot had 15 points and five assists for Coker with Tyesha Ervin adding 14 points and five rebounds.
