Men's Track Competes at Day One of SAC Outdoor Championships

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Coker University men's track and field team completed day one of the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships on Thursday (May 5).

Austin Simpkins had the performance of the day for the Cobras, as he qualified for the finals in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.86. Teammate Kristoffer Persen just missed out on the final by one position, finishing in ninth. Mahliqe Andrews finished 13th in the 800 meter, with a time of 1:56.40. 

Luke Baker finished in 20th in the javelin throw with his distance of 39.36 meters and the 4x100 meter relay team posted a time of 42.10, good enough for a seventh place finish. Jeremil German's 19th place in the 100 meter dash rounded out the day for the Cobras.
