Coker Men's Track and Field Completes Day One of SAC Indoor Conference Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Coker University men's track and field team completed day one of the SAC Indoor Conference Championships on Saturday (Feb. 29).

The Cobras had a great day on the track as several runners qualified for the finals on Sunday (Mar. 1). Dre Litsey got things started for Coker as he set a personal record in the 60m with a time of 7.28. Sage Lilly (50.68) and Frederick Thompson (51.01) each qualified for the 400m final on Sunday. Wilhemson Jean-Pierre and Mahari Greene finished at 51.47 and 51.55, respectively.

Tony McElveen Jr. excelled in the 60m, qualifying for finals with a mark of 6.84. Jarrel Mumford (7.05) and Antuan Crowder (7.06) were not far behind. McElveen Jr. (22.45) also qualified for finals in the 200m, along with Sage Lilly (22.71). Davion Sebree ran a 23.09.

"We really showed up today with tons of personal bests and a lot of athletes advancing to the finals," said coach Pete Early. "We look forward to closing it out tomorrow."

The Cobras will be back in action on Sunday (Mar. 1) as they continue the SAC Indoor Conference Championships. The action is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m., with live results available at www.cokercobras.com.
