Cobras Complete Day One of Gamecock Opener

FULL DAY ONE FIELD RESULTS

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coker University men's track and field team completed day one at the Gamecock Opener on Friday (Jan. 17) in Columbia, S.C.

On the track, Tony McElveen Jr. recorded a top-ten finish in the 60m, finishing with a time of 6.97. Davion Sebree was not far behind as he had a time of 7.02, while Antuan Crowder finished at 7.13.

In the 400 dash, Sage Lilly led the team with a time of 50.22, while Mahari Greene and Trevon Campbell each ran a 51.36. Jamikal Pena totaled 8.62 in the 60 hurdles. The Cobras had two quality long jump finishers in Alex Berry and Dre Litsey, totaling 6.36m and 6.25m respectively. Seraphin Kibonge ran well in the 300m, completing a time of 36.78.

"We had a good amount of personal bests, and hope to cary over that momentum into tomorrow's events," said coach Pete Early. "We look forward to day two's competition!" 

The Cobras will continue the Gamecock Opener on Saturday (Jan. 18) with action getting underway at 9:00 a.m. Live results can be found at www.cokercobras.com
