Mumford, Lilly, and Irankunda Impress at Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Coker College men's track and field team opened their outdoor season at the Shamrock Invitational on Friday (Mar. 15) and Saturday (Mar. 16).

The Cobras had an impressive day in the 100-meter event with Jarrell Mumford posting the second-fastest time in school history at 10.79 seconds, and Sage Lilly grabbing the sixth-fastest time in Coker history at 10.85 seconds. Lilly also ran an impressive time of 22.13 seconds in the 200-meter, good for the eighth-fastest mark in school history.

Coker grabbed sixth place out of 24 teams in the 4x100 event, posting the third best time in Coker history at 42.47 seconds, narrowly missing Coastal Carolina's winning time of 41.64.

Murishi Irankunda rounded out the day with an impressive first career attempt in the long jump of 6.63 meters, good for the fourth-best non-wind-aided mark in Coker history.

Coker will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 23) when they travel to Columbia to compete in the Columbia Invitational.
