Coker was 18-7 under McCall in his sixth season in 2020 before the season was shortened due to COVID-19. Following the season, McCall stepped down as head softball coach while transitioning to a new post at USC Upstate. 

In his fifth season at Coker, head coach Travis McCall lead the 2018-19 softball team to another outstanding season as the team saw a NCAA tournament berth after being selected as the fourth seed in the Southeast Regional Tournaments. This was after McCall had lead the team to the semifinals of the South Atlantic Conference tournament. McCall lead the cobras to a 31-win season making this the team's third straight 30 plus win season. Under his leadership McCall had three All-Conference selections in Taylor Forehand, Chloe Pelham, and Isabelle Mullen, while Chloe Pelham was also an All-Region selection. 

Coach McCall has re-established the Coker softball team as one of the top programs in all of Division II. The Cobras had an unforgettable season in 2018, beating the previously undefeated and number two ranked team in the country (North Georgia), reaching the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship game for the second year in a row, and heading to the NCAA DII Southeast Regional for the first time in 11 years. McCall led the Cobras to an astonishing 36-18 record, highlighted by a 14-0 start to the season that included a perfect game from Christine Carver, and a #4 ranking in the Southeast Region. McCall coached a pair of All-SAC first-teamers in Carver and Maria Williamson. Williamson was also selected to the NFCA D2 First Team All-Southeast Region team, and both Williamson and Carver were selected to the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament team. In the process, McCall picked up his 100th victory at Coker, giving him a total of 116, and an incredible 77-35 record of the past two seasons. McCall was awarded the Coach of the Year award at the 2018 FANG Awards for the second straight season. 

McCall led the Coker softball team to a historical season during the 2016-17 campaign, highlighted by finishing runner-up in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament and recording 41 wins, the first 40-win season for the Coker softball since 2002. The Cobras defeated three nationally-ranked teams (No. 11 University of Charleston, No. 22 Limestone College, No. 13 Lenoir-Rhyne University) this season, while scoring regular season sweeps over nine non-conference opponents and six regular season sweeps over SAC teams. The Cobras finished SAC play with 13 wins, earning the No. 4 seed in the SAC Tournament. Regionally, the Cobras were ranked as high as No. 10 in the southeast region. McCall had six players named to All-SAC teams this season. Mindy North was named first team as a utility player, Maria Williamson was a second team selection at first base, while Cacey Simmons, Kelsi Bachmann, Hannah Price and Taylor Forehand were all honorable mention selections. In the SAC Tournament, Simmons and Tayler Barcomb were named to the SAC All-Tournament Team. Under McCall's tutelage, Barcomb earned 2017 D2CCA first team all-region honors and was named a 2017 D2CCA second team All-American as a utility player. Barcomb became the sixth athletic All-American in Coker softball history and the first since 1999. McCall also earned Coach of the Year honors at Coker's 2017 FANG Awards. 

McCall led the Cobras to a 15-win season in 2015-16, including an 11-win total at the friendly confines of Saleeby-Stokes Softball Field. Ashley Gallman, Riley Morris and Tayler Barcomb were named to the preseason All-SAC team, while Gallman and Morris earned regular season All-SAC honors. 

In his first season, head coach Travis McCall led the Coker College softball team to a 24-win season, 10 of which came in South Atlantic Conference play. In only their second season in the SAC, the Cobras made an appearance in the SAC Softball Tournament. Ashlee Ellen was a preseason All-SAC honoree, while Ashley Gallman, Riley Morris and Tayler Barcomb all regular season earned All-SAC honors.

McCall took over the program from legendary Coach David Hanna who retired after 23 years as the Cobras head coach.

McCall came to Coker after serving as the assistant coach at King University for the past three seasons, amassing more than 94 wins. Under his tutelage, 15 Tornado players earned all-conference honors, and 11 were named academic all-conference. Additionally, he helped guide the Tornado to a Conference Carolinas regular season title (2013), a Conference Carolinas Tournament title (2012) and two Conference Carolinas Tournament championship game appearances (2012, 2014).

McCall assisted King in becoming one of the top hitting and pitching teams in Conference Carolinas during his three years. In 2014 the Tornado ranked in the top five in 13 statistical categories, including being fourth in runs (169), third in hits (350), first in doubles (64), fourth in home runs (18), fourth in runs batted in (143) and fourth in total bases (472).  On the defensive side of the ball the Tornado were first in strikeouts (296), second in ERA (2.42) and second in shutouts (8).

In addition to the 15 all-conference performers, McCall has coached two-time Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year and two-time Daktronics All-Southeast Region selection Hannah Light.

Prior to his arrival at King, McCall served as the assistant coach at Columbus State University from 2010-2011. He helped guide the Cougars to a record of 37-16, a 16-win improvement from their previous season. CSU finished third in the Peach Belt Conference and advanced to the conference tournament.

McCall was a four-year letter winner for the University of West Georgia baseball team and a member of the Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management in 2008 and received his Master of Business Administration in 2009, both from the University of West Georgia.
