How It Happened:
Game 1: The Eagles were locked in both offensively and defensively in this game, scoring fourteen runs of their own and holding the Cobras scoreless through five innings. The Cobras would look to come back with a chip on their shoulder in Game 2.
Game 2: It was a great start for the Cobras, scoring the first two runs of the ballgame to take the lead in the top of the first. This was off a Brigman single that scored both Gaskins and Fair to take the 2-0 lead. The Eagles scored the next two runs to tie it at 2-2, followed by another Brigman single to score Andrews to take the lead back at 3-2. It was a big run for the Eagles after that, scoring the next seven runs to take a 9-3 lead. The Cobras were able to get some back in the top of the seventh, starting with a Gaskins single to score Roudabush and finished by a ball that Andrews put in play to score Fair. Unfortunately, the late runs weren't enough to bring this one back, and Coker fell to Carson-Newman in Tennessee.
Up Next:
The Cobras will host the Saints of Limestone in a Wednesday matchup at Saleeby-Stokes Field. The first pitch in Game 1 is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET.
