How It Happened:
Game 1: A run in the top of the second for the Wolves gave them a 1-0 lead, but the Cobras were quick to respond in the bottom of the third. It was then that Ally Moore singled to score Fair to tie this one, followed by Bailee Gaskins singling to score Moore to take the lead at 2-1. A run in the top of the fourth by Newberry tied this one at 2-2, and then a big top of the fifth that included two home runs made this one 7-2 in favor of the Wolves. The Cobras cut into the deficit with a Dakota Slack single that scored Mya Cribbs to make it 7-3, but that was the last run for the Cobras as the Wolves finished this one out strong.
Game 2: A strong start for the Wolves in the first three innings has them up 4-0 heading into the bottom of the third. In that inning, the Cobras got on the board in a big way. First, it was Moore singling to score Fair, followed by a bases-clearing double by Freeman to score both Moore and Gaskins. Then, Brigman singled to score Freeman, and Bryant hit the second bases-clearing double of the inning to score both Brigman and Cheyenne Palmer. Suddenly, the Cobras went from down 4-0 to up 6-4 heading into the fourth inning! Responding to the scoring outpour by the Cobras, the Wolves scored five of their own between the fourth and fifth innings to retake the lead at 9-6. The Cobras got one back in the bottom of the fifth when Bryant doubled to score Palmer to cut it to 9-7. Six runs in the top of the seventh stretched this to a 15-7 lead for Newberry, and although the Cobras attempted a late comeback, the Wolves used that lead to finish this win out.
