How It Happened:
Game 1: After two scoreless innings from both teams, the Cobras opened up action in the top of the third with three runs in that frame. With bases loaded, Andrews singled out to center field to score both Fair and Lacey Hennessy to make it 2-0, with Payton Brigman bringing in Gaskins shortly after to make it 3-0. In the top of the fourth, The Cobras struck again, with a Fair double bringing home Cribbs to make it 4-0. After Erskine made it 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Gaskins answered in the top of the seventh with a two-run home run that scored both hersef and Fair to make it 6-1. Cribbs finished off the scoring in this one with a single that scored Andrews to polish off the 7-1 win.
Game 2: Gaskins got things going early, cranking a two-run home run in the top of the first to score herself and Cribbs to take an early 2-0 lead. After a scoreless second from both teams and a scoreless top of the third for the Cobras, Erskine tied things up with two runs of their own in the bottom of the third. The Cobra defense took those runs personally and didn't allow another run from the Flying Fleet for the remainder of the game. Cheyenne Palmer retook the lead right after with a single that scored Brigman to make it 3-2 in the top of the fourth. Cribbs then caught every stitch of a ball to right field on a three-run shot to score herself, Fair, and Hennessy and make it 6-2 in the top of the fifth. One home run in the inning wasn't enough though, as Brigman blasted a two-run shot that scored herself and Andrews to make it 8-2. The Cobras finished things off with an Andrews single that scored Cribbs, locking in a 9-2 win on the road.
